I don't get why names like:
Kunt Puncher
Gaping Va Gi Na
Incest Is The Best
My Sistr The Fistr
The Red Ragger
Muffdiver Survivor
Fist Full Of Crisco
Kum Swap Queen

and yet this is not:
Snype has A I D S

Unless of course its BS politically correct hypocrisy.
How can you be sure that if someone made a name like "Dumb White Cracker" that it wouldn't be banned as well? Just because it isn't a blocked word doesn't mean that using it in an offensive way wouldn't get you banned. It does have some unoffensive meanings as well, which is why it's not blocked.

A huge amount of the blocked words have common unoffensive meanings as well.

I saw a guy just last night with "cracker" in his name. You are honestly going to sit there and tell me he meant the "A piece of hard, salty bread; biscuit" definition? How about "A short piece of twisted string tied to the end of a whip that creates the distinctive sound when the whip is thrown or cracked."? Of course he didn't people using cracker for in game names mean it as a derogatory term. It should receive the same blockage that "negro" does. The same goes for whitey or anything else.

In fact here in the United States whitey has ONE definition:

1. (African American Vernacular English, pejorative) A white person.

I call BS on your entire post.

I think the big thing we need to do is teach people to not give a crap about what people say, since it doesn't hurt you if you don't care. You could call any number of names, I don't care, go ahead, you ain't hurtin me, in fact, you're just wastin your own time.

Go ahead and call BS. It's not like it bothers me much.

So what your saying is you want more "censorship"? Why don't you provide the entire list of offensive words and all meanings and contexts and submit them to Anet for blockification?

Go try to make a character with "negro" in the name, it will not clear the filter you can't do it. Now go do the same thing with "whitey" and it will pass. Thats the problem. A double standard.

Edit: In fact just to prove my point "Whitey Mccracker" and "Whitey Mcwhitewhite" are both in use while "Negro Bob" "Contains words or parts of words not permitted in Guild Wars".

I do realize that... I think the Negro block is more of a preemptive strike, to use the parlance of our times. I agree that whitey is purely pejorative and should also receive the same treamtment. Cracker, perhaps you are right. Personally when I hear the word cracker I think, Saltine. It's all in the useage, and like I said, any offensive ones would be bannable.

You can't, you've said it all of the ways there is to say it, it's not your fault that they won't listen. I'd say just give up, honestly, because if they don't understand by now they won't at all.

It is pretty widely accepted that in today's society, you cannot call a black person any sort of derogatory term without getting, at the very least, a verbal lashing. However, any other race can call white people any plethora of derogatory terms, and few people will even bat an eyelash.

The people that allow themselves to be offended by silly words are always going to be the victims. I used to be one of those people... then I realized that they're just words. They only negatively impact me if I let them.

Unfortunate that more people don't agree.

Enjoy your ban! Here's an idea to spend your time: Maybe you could go stand on the street corner and tell random people "Hey I'm Snype and I have AIDS!". Should be a laugh.

This one made me laugh. What a great response. I agree!

You guys are getting way too carried away with this.

There is so much off-topic garbage in this thread.

Look at just how many people on this forum decided to let you know they thought your name was offensive. Now how many people in game saw your name? Apparently it was more offensive than you thought.

At the end of the day its up to ANet to decide. If you have problems with their banning policies, bring it up to them.
